Adobe Flash upgrade to 11.1.102.62 via update manager on 17/02/12 doesn't work.

Asked by jgkellt001

Adobe Flash upgrade to 11.1.102.62 via update manager on 17/02/12 doesn't work. I've tried removing and re installing, but still it doest work. It appears that other users have the same problem. I'm using a Toshiba L500 64bit laptop on ubuntu 11.10. As a ubuntu user of over 5 years I'm very dissapointed that such a basic problem could occur through what has been a reliable trustworthy update manager system. Has a solution been found and if so how can it be done?

Goto Firefox add-ons/pluggins and download Flash-Aid. Then goto Tools and scroll down to Flash-Aid then to quick update. Select stable version which will open Terminal, and follow the instructions. 5 minutes later the Adobe Flash problem is solved.

It took me 3 days to solve this. Many thanks to the following link which put me on the correct path; http://www.webgapps.org/add-ons/flash-aid/documentation, which I found after several googles.
