Asked by Youri

Binary package hint: firefox

Hi !
I'm running Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty 64 bit on a laptop (acer 9303 wlmi).
I installed Firefox 3.6 final in /opt and it work fine BUT....no way to get the flash player working. I tried to install it with Synaptic and with the package from Adobe's website...
I copied the "libflashplayer.so" in :

    * /home/goda/.mozilla/plugins
    * usr/lib/firefox/plugins
    * usr/lib/iceape/plugins
    * usr/lib/iceweasel/plugins
    * usr/lib/midbrowser/plugins
    * usr/lib/mozilla/plugins
    * usr/lib/xulrunner-addons/plugins
    * usr/lib/xulrunner/plugins

But nothing work...
When Firefox try to install the plugin by itself it doesn't succed.

Hi Youri, you don't install firefox through ubuntu packages, so this bug isn't related to Ubuntu, you must report this bug to firefox developers.

I will convert your bug to a question.

Thanks

Hi, we have a PPA for Firefox 3.6 now:
https://launchpad.net/~mozillateam/+archive/firefox-stable

The flashplugin-installer package should work fine with it.

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask Youri for more information if necessary.
