I can't start tor in ubuntu 9.10

i did this comands:
 sudo apt-get update
 sudo apt-get install tor tor-geoipd

when i tri to start tor,nothing changed and apeard same message:
 Can't Find Your Tor Installation!
Message: You can't find me.
This means: You need to tell me where Tor is - it's not in any of your executable paths. Run the 'First Run Wizard' again from the 'Tools' menu. I can't find executive file for start.Please help me .Thank you.
Any suggestions?

you shouls read TOR documentation and perhaps consider using privoxy or vidalia as a gui frontend.Or torbutton a firefox addon.

Once you've installed Polipo (either from package or from source), you will need to configure Polipo to use Tor. Grab our Polipo configuration for Tor and put it in place of your current polipo config file (e.g. /etc/polipo/config or ~/.polipo). You'll need to restart Polipo for the changes to take effect. For example:
/etc/init.d/polipo restart

I have vidalia and torbutton installed.But when i tryed to start vidalia it can't faind tor location.Same situation.

Trying it as a LiveCd or as an extra dual/multi-boot would be ideal. Developers and everyone are keen to try to iron out any problems before 10.04 gets officially released so you might find faster & more effective answers to your bug reports which would make 10.04 work better on your system for you
