can't use the movie player

asked for media player but i try the totem player but it said i might need permission

I suspect you need to install the flash player.

I have already install the adobe flash player but i can;t find it

If you have installed the flash player, then opening a flash video in firefox should work.
Do you have something like flashblock or noscript installed? If you do, you need to enable the viewing of the video.

Or is this video in another format?
