how to create a pdf file in ubuntu 8.04.2

hi! i have got unbuntu 8.04.2, which programme do i install in order to be able to create a pdf file from a windows word document? thanx in advance!

You can just export it as pdf , howto:

Open the document in open office {by default}

File-->Export as pdf , that's it .

Hi Hemanth!

Many thankx. However the problem is that i had created these word docs whilst my windows was still ok. A week ago it crashed, whereupon i installed linux in order to be able to still access the data on my hdd.
i can still open thoses docs, however when i try to save them i get the message:
Eye of GNOME could not find a supportable format. Please try a different file-extension like .png or .jpg. I tried to save the docs as .png and .jpg, but still receive this same error message.

Or you can open them with OpenOffice and drag the PDF-button in the toolbar.
