flash player for Ubuntu problems

Asked by The Ragman

I have some kind of conflict going on, with Ubuntu.. Everything is up to date.

I am a total illiterate with regard to any Linux platform, though worked with DOS years ago.
The problem is that I installed Gnash out of ignorance, and could see no video clips on any websites. I then discovered how to download and install Flash Player, which I did. About:plugins shows both Gnash, and Flash Player are installed, but I still do not get any video showing.

Please can someone give me novice level instructions of what to do..

Thank you.

Thank you, that showed me how to get rid of Gnash, and now Flash works fine.
