my archive manager will not work and will not open any zip files

i keep trying to download antivirus software and other files and my archive manager will not work and will not allow me to download any zip files. this is the error message i keep getting.....Archive: /home/marissa/.cache/.fr-uKSb3m/EasyZip3/ezzip.exe

amongst other ones depending on what im trying to download.

The exe is not a zip file, its an Exe file. You should not be trying to run a windows program in ubuntu, if you can avoid it; particularly if its something that requires low-level system modification, such as AV software.

If you need to download antivirus software (you don't, by design ubuntu does not require AV software, much like your telephone, your car, your TV or any other device running a unix OS), then install the "clamtk" package from the software repositories (software centre).

just one more comment:

 Avoid downloading programs from the internet and running them where possible -- there is no way to tell what they do. You should first be looking in your software databse, where the packages are digitally signed, so the contents can be validated and software maintainers can manually verify that programs don't keep any form of malware in them
