my images i get from my camera are too large?

Asked by titagula

When i go to import images from my camera onto my computer, i use F-spot photo manager. I love using GIMP and editing images on websites like www.picnik.com , and i noticed that the default size of the loaded images from my camera is 4000x3000 pixels which is pretty large, and it makes GIMP run slowly, so i go on picnik.com and i resize them, but it is annoying to do that all the time. Is there an option or something where i can have it import the image smaller from the start?

Please install the nautilus-image-converter package then use nautilus (the file browser) to resize your image, right click on image to resize
