Use extension SyncCatalog

Asked by Steffen Sindzinski

I'm using current Lucid f-spot version. I need to sync some old tags into the picture files. But I can't find the extension SyncCatalog mentioned on your website. Where is it? How can I activate/install it?

Thanks,

Steffen

This question was expired because it remained in the 'Open' state without activity for the last 15 days.

I have same bug. F-spot team make me really mad. There is no support, and no response.

I've run into this problem and ended up manually fixing and building the SyncCatalog extension and installing it manually. I'm reporting an Ubuntu bug and attached the Lucid-built tarball there; you can pick it up and either use it or rebuild it. Let me know if it doesn't work!

One more thing: when you enable it (for some reason, it's called SyncMetaData in the extension description) and try to get it to work, if you are using it on a large number of files, it will freeze for a bit and then come back. When it comes back, don't assume it's updated all the photos -- it takes a while.

Running f-spot in the terminal lets you at least see what activity is happening since it doesn't actually display anything in the window.
