Thanks for taking the time to submit this report. It seems the update failure is related to the Evolution mail client, so I am reassigning to the Evolution package.

The issue is not an evolution one but rather a broken download or lack of disk space for the install

It look like you skip version when you did your upgrade.it should be Intrepid>Jaunty>Karmic.Or fresh install of course.

Hi,
thanks for looking into the issue, can you tell me some work around for
this, as my package manager is also crashed, its not getting started. And
system is not allowing any updates or software installation now.

Make separate home partition if you don´t have one.Follow http://psychocats.s465.sureserver.com/ubuntu/separatehome.After that do fresh install of Karmic.
