convert complete iMAC into ubuntu OS

Hi all,

I have an older iMac that I want to completly convert into an Ubuntu computer
* format the disk
* install Ubuntu

I only found description about installing a parallel OS.
I want to erase Mac OS run run only Ubuntu ...

Can anyone help?

One step of the installation process is preparing the hard disk. In that step you can answer to do a parallel installation besides the existing software, or you can choose "erase the whole disk". This should do you want.
The screen will look similar to this (wit MacOS instead of Windows of course):

Step for step. Make USB the first boot order, then restart.
If you have less than 2 GHz dual core processor and 4 GB of RAM.
