evince print issue

Asked by Bart Goeman

Hi,

I have a pdf which renders fine on my display with evince (3.28.2 on ubuntu 18.04),
but if I print it from evince, big chunks are missing.
It seems a whole layer is missing, although I am not sure how to check the pdf is using layers

The print output is wrong if I print it to my printer (HP M426fdn, a laser multifunctional on the local network), but also when I print it to a file and reopen that file with evince.
If I print the file directly with lpr or with FoxItReader, the print is fine.
Most documents print just fine with evince.

I would like to file a bug, but i am not sure where.
Is this a bug I should file against evince (in gnome itself), or is there some common (gnome?) printing component that is likely to blame? Or here, i.e. ubuntu-evince?

Have you tried other pdf applications to test?

If you run:

ubuntu-bug evince

You can start the bug reporting process

Can you help with this problem?
