Not sure what that means. I believe the answer must be no.

I also get this message when I try to open with Open Office: file format error found at 113.7 (row, col).

Also, when I click on properties, I try to change the "read only" to "read and write" but it won't make the change.

Hi Gloria

I need some more information about what you are doing.

Please describe how you are opening the document.

Where are you, when you click Properties? This is such a universal term, so I need to know which program, form or dialogue you selecting 'Properties' from.

Tony,
Because I can't open the document file, I right click on the file icon and then click on the properties option that comes up, way at the bottom.

Gloria,

So you are in the file browser.

What is at the top of the list when you right click? It should be the default program for opening the rtf file. What is it?

In Properties, on the Permissions tab, are you shown as the Owner? What happens when you try and change the Access to Read and Write? Do you get a message?

Lets say for example the document name is: myfile.rtf
Open a terminal: ctrl+alt+t
Type:
libreoffice --writer myfile.rtf

LibreOffice reads RTF documents incorrectly.

Can you help with this problem?
