wont let me unlock the default keyring

Asked by insatiabledestiny

Binary package hint: empathy

I just upgraded my ubuntu to 9.10 and I wanted to try empathy and I cannot even get started. When I tried to import my contacts it asked for me to unlock a default keyring and my usual password doesn't work and I dont have any others to try. I looked around and I tried the word "keyring" and I tried my password for the account of the IM that was importing which none of those has worked. It says that the "account manager" wants access to (/usr/lib/telepathy/mission-control-5) but the default keyring is locked. I have no idea what to do.

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#When%20not%20to%20file%20a%20bug.
