Can one make the contract entries take up less space?

I just installed Ubuntu 12.10, and with it came Empathy 3.6. By default each contact entry is about twice as tall as before. This is extremely annoying because it means that only half as many fit on the screen. Is there a way to set them back to the old size?

You can't. That's the new normal size. But Gnome developers think that it's better than before, you know, it is easier to tap the contacts list in the tables with Gnome Shell.
