how to build dasher 5.0 from/with the debian repack 2

As a failed installer (in a residence for handicapped, South of Madrid) of Dasher 5.0 previously to

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dasher/5.0.0~beta~repack-2

release, in Ubuntu Xenial (32/64 bits) machines; I still don't figure out the steps to do it.

My previous attempts were made following README files in Linux tar files from

https://github.com/ipomoena/dasher/releases

... to np avail.

I would very much appreciate any advice. My ancient experience with gcc under freeBSD is quite insufficient.

Yes w want to install Dasher 5.00

We have installed the Windows 10 version, and our user is pretty satisfied with the improvements over previous version 4.x that we had in a Ubuntu Xenial 32 bits machine.

I think that any minor/naive change (e.g. a "Hello Mercedes" banner) would put us in the route of understanding and sharing the packages with our potential local accessibility associates. But as I told I don't disentangle the distribution trees

If you look at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dasher you can see that the dasher package that is delivered for Ubuntu 16.04 us only version 4.11.
A version 5.0 is just being prepared for Ubuntu 17.04 which currently is in development for publication in April.
But you cannot just copy a package that is meant for a certain Ubuntu release to another one because of dependencies that might be unfulfilled.

What happens if you try compiling from the source code as stored on github?

Unpack the tar.gz archive, and then execute commands like

sudo apt-get install g++ gnome-common gnome-doc-utils libatspi2.0-dev libgtk-3-dev
./autogen.sh
./configure
make
sudo make install

(see README, INSTALL.Linux and INSTALL files in the zip file)
