compiz conflicts with maple

Asked by Tim Lunn

I am running the beta release of intrepid, and maple does not work unless I disable compiz. I just get a blank window when running this program while compiz is enabled.

It worked fine with compiz enabled under hardy.

I have the same problem with the final release of Intrepid, trying to run Maple 12.

You should try to subsitute the jre.IBM_INTEL_LINUX folder in your maple installation location with a link to /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun/jre (or wherever your jre resides).

SiLeNcE: I haven't noticed your suggestion before now, but I am all to happy that I did now at last because you're solution worked perfectly! Thanks.

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#When%20not%20to%20file%20a%20bug.
