Please read already answered questions on clamtk https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/clamtk
expecially this one: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/clamtk/+question/66470

In short on an empty desktop press alt+F2 and into opened windows type:

gksudo clamtk

and go to the Help menu item and update your virus Signature or use the clamav "freshclam" command open a terminal and type:

sudo freshclam

Hope this helps
