update from 20.04 to 22.04 (jellyfish) returns 'unable to updaate snap has no updates availiable' + something about update package incomplete or unavailable.

I get invited to update, but then I get return ' unable to update. 22.04 snap has no updates available'
am trying to update from 20.04 to 22.04 & I also got a message that the install pkg is missing or incomplete
password could not be typed in, none were accepted
