aMule fails to connect

Regardless of whether I install aMule by downloading the package or through the "add/remove software" command, the software does not connect to any servers although it looks like downloading a list of servers every time I launch the software. Any advice welcome...

The reporter is looking for advice on why he can't connect. Probably his server list is 404'ing. He should check whether the server list is ok, and try with another one which works.

and paste this url ( http://www.gruk.org/server.met.gz ) the one on amule is outdated, it won't connect.
you don't have to open any ports unless you installed firestarter and blocked the ports (ICMP enabled) then open the edonkey server port 4662 in the firestarter (firestarter is a gui front end for iptables More Info:
