adobe flash full screen choppy and crashes

looks fine. Run this and you should be ok.

sudo apt-get --purge remove adobe-flashplugin; sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree

Close all browsers and restart them to load the plugin into RAM.

A cheap fix for this issue may be that adobe is not very happy with the hardware acceleration - it might not be properly supported. Therefore, after you have tried the above fix, and it still does not work, you could try this:

Open a youtube video in firefox and right-click ON the video. Select 'settings' and uncheck the box that says 'Enable hardware acceleration'. Flash has hardware acceleration enabled by default.

I am proposing this solution because on my laptop, which has an nvidia GeForce 8400, mplayer does not work very well with vdpau, and hardware acceleration just causes issues. I have to use it with 'xv' - which is software assisted. My flash works well with the hardware-enabled acceleration, but your flash might have a similar issue.

So I tried both of your methods and adobe flash is still choppy sluggish in full screen. maybe it's time to build a new pc. does flash really need that much ram, cpu, graphics card muscle to run affectively? maybe i need a different video card driver? the dell desktop sucks, cause i can't upgrade my video card because it is integrated.

Can you give the output of:

sudo lshw -C display

It will take a while to run but let it play. Sadly Adobe flash chew system resources a LOT but with some tweaking it can be made a little better. There are apps like minitube which do not need flash and you can watch youtube vids without too much issue.

I also suggest you run:

sudo mkdir /etc/adobe; echo OverrideGPUValidation=true | sudo tee /etc/adobe/mms.cfg

This can help make flash nicer.

the graphics card is no to great so i am guessing that is my problem.
