Medion Akoya E6220 - Brightness settings don't work

Asked by shudouken

I'm using Ubunut 11.10
I'm having problems with screen dimming, completely shutting off the screen via hotkey Super + F4 works, but dimming the light doesn't change my screen lighting, neither in ubuntu preferences nor via hotkey

The screen is constantly stuck at max brightness, which is disturbing because it sucks away the battery very fast

I searched the net but didn't find anything
Is there a fix for this?

Thanks in advance
