cannot install skype package

Version 8.04 - the hardy heron
Skype version - skype-ubuntu-hardy_2.1.0.47-1_386(5).deb

I cannot install skype from this website - could anyone help please?
It downloaded successfully but will not install sometimes giving the message architecture is wrong.

You downloaded deb package and you are using lpia architecturee.That is why you are get errors.Maybe http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-979458.html will work for you.Or http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=962835
