What is this error?

Asked by Amir Argani

Usb 3-10: 3:1: cannot get freq at ep 0x84
I have tried to search for this error but can not find anything of relevance, What is 3.10, what is 3.1 and what is ep 84? Is there a web page that I can read about these errors? Can this error be resolved?

I am not completely sure, but the message seems to be related to the Logitech Webcam (and not to the bluetooth device).

Is that a built-in camera or one with an USB plug?

If you unplug it and boot, do you still get these messages in the system logs?
If you then plug it in, which messages appear in the logs?

You are correct, it shows the error after i reconnected it after the reboot, any way to fix it?

And I tried different usb ports, all of them gave the same error.

I am sorry, but I have no idea, what the root cause for those messages is.

Does the webcam work?

It seems to work though picture and sound seems like they should be better, I just installed skype, it seemed to work although I had to choose pro Audio in the configuration of Pulse audio Volume control. It may be a while before I can test it in a live session, just wanted ut to be ready, Is there no description on what ep 0x84 means?

The message seems to be issued by the kernel, see https://git.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/tree/sound/usb/clock.c#n527 and "ep" seems to indicate the "endpoint".
I doubt that there is a specific meaning in 0x84
