Bootable USB-stick

Asked by peter

Hi

I've an USB-stick and an Ubuntu live cd. And I like to install the live cd on the USB-stick so I will have a bootable USB-stick.. How can I do this? Can I choose the target USB-stick during the installation?

Thanks.
Peter

Hi arochester

Thanks a lot. I've 8.04 and I guess the installation will be the same like 8.10 (http://www.pendrivelinux.com/ubuntu-810-install-using-the-built-in-usb-installer/).

But one question: in System > Administration I don't have the entry Create a USB startup disc..Do I get this entry during the installation?

Thanks a lot.

My preferred method of preparing an Ubuntu USB install is http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/
