how to install ThinkorSwim

Asked by Deb

I'm trying to install Thinkorswim desktop. The installer is downloaded already, but when I try to open it with gedit it appears to be a binary file, thus I'm not being able to do it with a double click. I tried using the right click, and choosing Java, which seems to start Java, but nothing else happens. Yes, I'm a beginner ubuntu user and don't know what I'm doing wrong or right for that matter ;)

1) Make a new folder in my home folder called .thinkorswim. (The period is in front so that it is hidden).
{Ctrl+H to display hidden folders}

2) Run the install script and pointed the install into the .thinkorswim folder in my home directory.

3) Runs perfect. {gksudo thinkorswim &}

Thank you Hemanth. That is mainly what the link provided is all about, but in a detailed step by step format, for beginners.
