internet connection

Need to know step by step how to hook up new laptop mini to internet via wireless for my youngest daughter. Please explain as if you were talking to a 6th grader because i will be needing her help for this i am sure. Thx

first, pls tell us what version of ubuntu distro/release you're using; you'll find it at System-->Administration-->System Monitor-->System tab. or, you can run in a terminal

uname -a

command. pls post - copy and paste - the output of this command. we'll continue after that.
