how to delete/uninstall locked files on desktop

Asked by j,jackson

I have been trying to get my v100 scanner to work in ubuntu 8.04 LTS 64 bit. I have tried all the ways I have read, all to no avail and I have been left with "iscan" and "iscan plugin" locked files on the desktop which I would like to removel. could someone tell me how to ?
