Opera 9.50 Sucks !!! How Do I Downgrade to 9.27 ??

Asked by taurus

Today, I had unfortunately upgraded to Opera 9.50 from 9.27. To my great dismay, the keyboard shortcuts aren't the same as the previous version. As a result, I need to downgrade it back to 9.27. How do I go about doing this?

As a side note to anyone who depends on keyboard navigation in Opera, I STRONGLY suggest that you NOT upgrade to 9.50. The zoom and tabbed windows shortcut keys don't work.

The best way would be to find it off of the Opera site, and download it from there.

An easier way to fix this is to go into Tools -> Preferences -> Advanced

Then choose Shortcuts from the list on the left.

Finally, change Keyboard set-up from Opera Standard to Opera 9.2 Compatible.

I stumbled across this on Friday after realising to my dismay that the tab change keys had changed to something ludicrous.

You can also change the skin back to pre-9.5 Opera look, if you'd like to reclaim a bit more screen space or if like me, you find the black a bit too much. I think you have to download that skin though. I can't remember exactly and for some reason Opera just doesn't work for me on 8.04 Heron so I can't check at home. Good luck, try and stick to the latest browser version if you can; it's usually more secure.

Can you help with this problem?
