Recording with firefox and flash

Asked by Wolf Canis

Hello,
I want record voice via a Flash plugin in Firefox, but that doesn't work. The Flash plugin is recording but if I playback that recording it's to fast (Mickey Mouse voice). I can play videos, DVD, CD and so on but if it comes to recording it failed.
With Gnome-Recorder it isn't a problem, that works fine. Therefore I conclude that firefox gets the wrong sound information but where can I configure that? I tried the man page but there is only one environment variable - FIREFOX_DSP. This variable is set to none (default setting). I tried the aoss package and set FIFEFOX_DSP=aoss but that doesn't work too.
The Site with which I want do that is www.livemocha.com, a language learning portal. That isn't for fun, I need it for business. If that isn't to fix I must switch back to M$ and I don't want that. It must be a solution there but I can't get it. I must miss something but what?

My System:
Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon) fresh install (Dual boot with WXP)
Toshiba Satellite L30-140 (PSL033E)
BIOS-Version: 3.10 (latest)
Fixed DSDT - There is only one boot error:

[ 18.394713] ACPI: CPU0 (power states: C1[C1] C2[C2])
[ 18.394891] ACPI Exception (processor_core-0783): AE_NOT_FOUND, Processor Device is not present [20070126]

Sound - Chip: ALC660/ALC861VD
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base:
#
# Toshiba Satellite L30-140
# Chip ALC660/ALC861VD
options snd-hda-intel model=3stack position_fix=1 enable_msi=1

That's the only model which works with TS L30 hardware.
Sound summary: All works fine but headphones won't recognized (the HW switched off the speaker but on the headphone isn't any sound)

Firefox and flash are the actually packages from the repositories.

I really hope that there is some who can help me to fix this. After over 10 years Linux usage I'm at a point where I have really no idea what's going on.

Thanks in advance.

Hello me again,
I forgot to mention that the same behavior is on the Dell Inspiron 6400 Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty Fawn) pre-installed. After upgrad / fresh install of 7.10 too. BTW this pre-installation was really worse and not to mention the bad BIOS (_OS, _OSI query available without Linux entry, DSDT Table one syntactical error). A brand new system pre-installed with Ubuntu and I have to reinstall the hole system and to fix the DSDT. Anyway that's a other construction site.

Hello me again,
I just tested a direct conversation between two members and that works fine. Therefore it's only that recording which doesn't work.
