My webcam is not detected .... it is HP dv6220tx notebook and i am in desperate need of get it working ... pls help ..

I cant detect my webcam in the Linux .. working is far off thing .. please help as far as possible ..

Please open a Terminal from the menu Applications->Accessories->Terminal and type:

sudo lsusb

give your user password when requested, you don't see nothing when you type it, then press enter.

Inbuilt cam are internally connected via usb please copy and paste the result of lsusb

Well you don't have any external usb device connected/recognized and the only that we see is your usb camera device.
The usb id is 05ca:1810
I will try to find something on google abour this id, to help you.

Help us to find something try yourself.

Simply try to search: "05ca:1810 linux"

I tried as mentioned but during installation it gives the output as r5u870 not found and do not install it in the last

Please check your user properties from System->Administration->User and group
select your user, go to properties and select all permissions

Then, please open a Terminal from the menu Applications->Accessories->Terminal and type:

sudo chmod 777 /dev/your_video_device_name

give your user password when requested, you don't see nothing when you type it, then press enter.
