Ubuntu trips out with dual boot in vista

Asked by kamon1662

k, so i recently installed ubuntu on my vista laptop. after shrinking partitions in vista, put the boot disk in. intall was a little iffy. eventually figured out that i could continue further if i set my graphical frame buffer in my bios to 32MB. Went through the whole install, set up an account, restarted. On restart, whenever i opt to boot in Ubuntu, right when i should see the loading screen, my display trips out. no error messages or anything specific shows up on the display, just lots of horizontal lines. tried changing the buffer a few times, so far, no go. any thoughts?

Have a look at the Laptop Testing Team page,
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LaptopTestingTeam
to see if your laptop is include, if there is a similar laptop with the same CPU and graphics card.

Is the TurionX2 a 64-bit CPU? You may need the 64-bit edition of Ubuntu.
