ubuntu 10.04 related

Hi,
I have successfully installed the heasoft source file for newely installed ubuntu 10.04 in my pc, (installation log shown no problem at all ) . When I am running the any FTOOL (e.g. fdump)it is showing follwing error.

fdump: error while loading shared libraries: libg2c.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I tried to install libg2c both way ap-get and synaptic manager but this shows

E: Couldn't find package libg2c

What you seem to be looking for is
/usr/lib/libg2c.so.0
which WAS part of the 'libg2c0' package until jaunty, gcc-3.4 is deprecated since karmic so that library isn't shipped anymore. If you really need it please use an older Ubuntu release (still supported variants would be hardy (8.04) or jaunty (9.04)) or rebuild the application so it works with gcc-4.

does lucid has substitute for /usr/lib/libg2c.so.0 so that a link could be created? can somebody help me with this problem?
