impossible log in

Asked by brian collins

I installed Lucid Linux for Xubuntu. I removed Thunar because it wouldn't open files. I rebooted.

Now I put in my password and it reboots again.

Is there anyway to get back to my data?

Thanks in advance,
brian

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#When%20not%20to%20file%20a%20bug.

If this was supposed to be a bug report instead of a support request then please read
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html
first as we need a more precise description of your issue.

Thanks. I'm new to this, so I don't know who to talk to, but now it doesn't matter; I reinstalled with Kubuntu!
Best,
