Indian languagea for Mobile phones

How can we help you? Which particular language are you interested in translating?

(1) I wanted the OS for mobile phones in UBUNTU.

(2) It should be operable by any person in his mother-tongue- say
Hindi,Gujarati,Marathi,Malayalam,Tamil,Telugu, Kannada,Bengali and othe
Indian languages.

Hi,

For an Ubuntu OS to run on Internet devices, you should check the Ubuntu Netbook Edition (UNE). You can get the latest development images at http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-netbook/daily-live/current/, which should be available in all the languages you are mentioning (with diferent levels of translation coverage).

You could also check out the Ubuntu Moblin Remix (more info at http://www.ubuntu.com/news/canonical-dell-deliver-ubuntu-moblin-remix), but as it is not translated by Ubuntu translators, I'm not sure about which languages are included.

I am thinking about cell phones with UBUNTU as OS and in the Indian
languages.
Nokia, Samsung, Motorola, Sony Ericcson and other manufacturers can
install UBUNTU in their products.
Already these products are selling in large volume and once UID (Unique
identification)is introduced,
cell phones will be sold in lot more volume.

Hi Ramachandran,

We are just a couple of person helping with Ubuntu translations.

Ubuntu is already available in Tamil, so the second issues is already solved.

If you want to see the first issue solved, you should contact Nokia, Samsung, Motorola, Sony Ericsson and ask them to provide phones with Ubuntu.

We, the Ubuntu translators, can not install Ubuntu on behalf of those telephone companies.
