Requesting more space for KDE3.5 PPA

Asked by Timothy Pearson

While attempting to roll out a major KDE3.5 update for Jaunty, my PPA ran out of space. Can it be increased by a couple of gigabytes, or the old packages and failed builds/sources purged to free up space?

Thank you,

Timothy Pearson

Hi Timothy,

Nice work! Out of curiosity, have you considered opening a team for maintaining those packages ? That way other people interested in kde4.5 packages could join and help you. I'm saying that just because there is a chance that someone else (upset by kde4) will probably request the same thing for working on his own packages.

Do you think you can get it going with an extra 1GiB ?

I know that migrating packages to a team-ppa will be time consuming and I'm not pushing you to do that immediately, only suggesting that it could be beneficial if you have time to do it.

Let me know what you think.

Sure! I'd be more than happy to create a team PPA.

1GiB more should be enough to finish the migration to /opt/kde3. Directly after this migration is probably a good time to open it up to team development, actually, as I think the last major non-standard item in my PPA was my usage of /usr/kde3 for the KDE3.5 files. I will have to check with the Kubuntu devs again to make sure.

Oh, and it's KDE3.5, not 4.5 ;-)

Thanks!

Ehe, 4.5 (!) sorry.

I guess it's all sorted for now, right ?
