Can I translate QT apps using Rosetta (using QT's tranlsation mechanism, not gettext)?

Asked by Matthew Gates

Can I translate QT apps using Rosetta (using QT's tranlsation mechanism, not gettext)? I think QT has it's own translation mechanism, using the "linguist" application for local translations, but I would like to use this mechanism, but also adding in translations from Rosetta. Has anyone else done this? If so, how?

The following program might help:
    http://translate.sourceforge.net/wiki/toolkit/ts2po

It is available in Ubuntu as part of the "translate-toolkit" package. You can use the ts2po program to convert the template .ts file to a form that Launchpad can understand. When exporting your translations from Launchpad, you will get a tarball of .po files. You can convert these back with po2ts.

Can you help with this problem?
