Can't log into Yahoo

 On my installation of Ubuntu 9.04 I am having problems logging into my Yahoo instant messenger service. This is rather a large problem because the only way I currently have is through my BlackBerry or if I log into my Yahoo mail account and use the web interface. The Windows version works just fine so this is clearly an issue with the Linux distribution through Synaptic. When will this be fixed?

Apparently Yahoo has changed their default server or it's not resolving anymore as before.

This is apparently fixed in Pidgin 2.5.7 but Jaunty comes with 2.5.5. as you know normally there aren't feature upgrades in stable releases, specially when an easy workaround exists, so I am not sure this will or won't be fixed in Jaunty.
