Will Remix partition a fully allocated HDD

Asked by A.Wright

I have an Acer Aspire One 250.

The HDD has about 7GB allocated to PQService in the first partition, and the remainder is fully allocated, with about 10GB of programs including WinXP and others pre installed by Acer.

If I download the 9.10 Ubuntu Remix to a USB stick, will this install on the Acer netbook by the loader making space on the allocated part of HDD as I believe happens with the full version of Ubuntu.

Or have I to find a pertition manager that will resize the HDD first, and then install UNR 9.10

Thank you
A. Wright

I installed Ubuntu Netbook Remix just like you together with Windows XP.

You just need to have Windows XP installed to a primary partition.
Now you can install UNR to the remaining logical drive.

UNR automatically detects Windows and lets you choose dual boot option.
Now you can set the amount for your UNR drive and your logical drive will automatically be resized.

Hope that could help, just ask if you need more information.
