Connection to Ubuntu One

Asked by klenhard@gmail.com

On my netbook, UNR runs just fine, but I cannot find a place where I can connect to ubuntu one - The ubuntu one application in the preferences folder just gives me the "preferences" window of the ubuntu one client, but I cannot find the place where to put my connection information. Can someone point me to what I am doing wrong?

Thanks!

I don't think you're doing anything wrong. When you first try to use Ubuntu One, it opens a web page where you can sign in/up. Unfortunately, whether you sign in successfully or not, every subsequent attempt at using Ubuntu One from the Favourites menu will instead open the preferences window. If someone hasn't already done so, this could be filed as a bug.

Fortunately, you can get around this problem.
In the top panel, the Ubuntu One icon should be a cloud with ! (an exclamation mark) in it.
Right-click this, and choose Quit.
Now, from the Favourites menu, open Ubuntu One.
It should launch Firefox and open the login page where you can sign in/up, which will then allow you to connect your computer to the service.

Can you help with this problem?
