What is removed vs. a "Standard" install - what is kept as essential?

Asked by emarkay

Would be nice to have a text list of the "Desktop CD" apps that are removed/ considered superfluous?

FWIW, what apps are not installed by default on the Alternate/Server CD?

What apps are considered essential, necessary (including the obvious like, kernel, GUI, communication, security and hardware detection for starters)?

Thank you.

Can you help with this problem?
