Not possible to disable server

Asked by l0co

This is a feature request.

The ability to just disable server would be great (and ability to do it without moving to config windows would be really great).

The use case: I have few servers from which one is paid - not monthly, but for data amount. I can use the free servers for files with little retention, and I'd like to disable the paid server for that. I'd rather use it just for cases with big retention.

Hi l0co,

thanks for letting me know how you think LottaNZB could be improved. In fact, I've recently made the process of configuring news servers a bit smoother. Firstly, it will be possible to edit the news server information faster by just clicking Edit -> Servers. Secondly, the redesigned news server window lets you simply enable and disable servers using a new switch widget at the top. Unfortunately, I do not have the capacity to continue working on the new version at the moment, so it will take some time for the new version to be released.

In your case, there is probably a better way than disabling and enabling servers depending on what your downloading. I recommend you to mark the paid news servers as the backup server (called fillserver in the SABnzbd web interface). This ensures that LottaNZB always downloads from the free server unless the download is too old.

Regards,
Severin
