Bug tracker for sub project redirects to base bug tracker on submitting a new bug

Asked by chamindra

We are trying to file bugs to a specific sub branch of the sahana project:

e.g. https://bugs.launchpad.net/sahana/relief-experiments

However on the submission https://bugs.launchpad.net/sahana/relief-experiments/+filebug, it redirects to the main tracker

https://bugs.launchpad.net/sahana/+filebug

Why is this happening? Is there some configuration I need to put to make sure the submission stays on the right tracker.

Appreciate your quick help on this as we are responding to a disaster event.

Right, you must first file a bug for the project itself, but once the bug exists, you can nominate it for a series or directly target it to a series, depending on your permissions for the project: Below the table "Affects, Status, Importance...", you see three links: "Also affects project", "Also affects destribution" and "Nominate for release" or "Target to release".

Thanks for the response, but I would like to report that this process is not that intuitive for a normal user (e.g. NGO users) and is extra work for a bug supervisor to associate a bug to a branch/release. Let me give you an example.

Sahana has multiple releases and demos
http://demo.sahana.lk

I would like to add a link right next to each demo for people to report bugs associated to that release/branch. That should ideally link directly to the associated bug tracker. I need a URL that I can use to pre-populate some of the the bug tracker data (like the branch it is associate to).
