Getting error connection reset message when saving translations

Asked by WEPortuguese Translators

For the WiserEarth project, a team of translators down in Brazil is getting an error message when saving a translation. They've been able to successfully enter translations in the past before, so this is a new development.

The message they receive when hitting the Save and Continue button is:

"This webpage is not available.

The webpage at https://translations.launchpad.net/wiserearth/trunk/+pots/wiserearth/pt_BR/+translate might be temporarily down or it may have been moved permanently to a new web address.

Below is the original error message:
Error 101 (net: ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): Unknown error.

They're running on PCs, using Chrome, Firefox and IE.

Does that problem still persist? It sounds like a transient error in the server infrastructure. I know there were some problems but I am not aware of any current big issues.

Sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused.

Henning

I can't reproduce it on staging, unfortunately. We may be able to find logs of the failure. When exactly did this happen? Did or does it happen every single time?

Also, it may be a networking issue not related to Launchpad or the users' systems. Do people outside Brazil get the same error?

Thanks for responding, Henning and Jeroen. I've been asking the team down there to provide more details, but they haven't been able to get a chance to try Launchpad again. I'll ask them to start noting down the time and the process if it occurs again. Not sure yet if it's an issue that happens every single time, but I get the sense it's happened often enough to stop them from entering more translations into Launchpad. I will post back if I hear more from them

I should note that I came across a very similar error notice the other day, though on a different Launchpad page. In that case a bad network connection was definitely to blame.

Can you help with this problem?
