team admin to old user but same email

Asked by Ilia Platone

the spacedrone-team has a maintainer email account that is now on my personal account iliaplatone.
The old user spacedrone should be deleted and merged into my account.
Can this be done? I have not any access to the team projects anymore.
Thanks
Ilia.

Hello

This can certainly be done if you own the account, please have a look at: https://help.launchpad.net/YourAccount/Merging

Hello and thank you for your reply.
I have not access to the account itself anymore, only to its mail.
There's a PPA preventing account merging.
Ilia.

Hi Ilia

Indeed, it's the PPA is under your account: https://launchpad.net/~iliaplatone/+archive/ubuntu/ppa

You could delete the PPA and upload it after the merge maybe ?

Unfortunately not.
I just want to have access to my old username spacedrone. I have access to the mail but not to the user account.

OK, I'm confused, in the original question you mentioned "The old user spacedrone should be deleted" and in the latest comment you posted you ask "I just want to have access to my old username spacedrone".

Can you please clarify: which account do you wish to keep and which do you want deleted ?

Since I don't have access to the account spacedrone, but the spacedrone user is the admin of the spacedrone-team team, I need to have access to the account spacedrone to manage that team at least.

I see, in that case since you still have access to the email you should be able to at least attempt login and use the "Forgot your password?" facility and gain complete access to the account, there should be no need for a merge or a user deletion.

I can contact the team admin and get mail to the mail account, but there's no email sent when I click on "Forgot your password?".

"Forgot your password?" is not a link you click on to get an email, you need to follow the 3 steps process and it will only work if you actually still have access to the account your trying to claim ownership of.

The account was canceled on Ubuntu SSO but still exists on Launchpad.net.
I need to have access to the team named spacedrone-team. If you see your logs I put the administration user to spacedrone and lost all access to the team after this choice.

Hi Ilia

Thanks for posting the email challenge, you clearly have access to the email for the 'spacedrone' account.

If you go to login.ubuntu.com and select the "Forgot your password?" link, then enter the email for the 'spacedrone' account (in which you received the challenge you posted above) you should be able to reset the password for that account, log in and have administrator access to the 'spacedrone-team' team from the 'spacedrone' account.

Let us know here how that goes.
