Is it possible to subscribe to mailing lists without being members of a team?

Can I receive mails sent to a mailing list of a team without being a member? If so, how can I do it?

I ask this because, if I have understood correctly, bug 194126 should introduce this feature, but although it is not fixed nor in progress I see in the +mailing-list-subscribers page of my teams not only the approved members but the proposed ones too.

Hi Andrea,

We've pushed the feature back a bit, until February or March. The registry team wants to complete some privacy features before implementing this.

looks like we have a bug in Person.addMember(). that method should not call person.autoSubscribeToMailingList() when the status is PROPOSED. Can you confirm that, Barry?

This is bug #287248.

Actually, it's bug 392255. I split them since 287248 is a different, less critical problem.

I have the exact same question. I don't need to see the private bug report: all I want to know is:
- Is it possible to subscribe to a mailing list without joining the team?
- If it's not possible now, are they any plans to make it possible in the future?
