Cannot log into Launchpad

Asked by Henning Eggers

I am asking this question on behalf of https://launchpad.net/~ayrton.araujo

He merged a deactivated account (~a.j) into his a little while ago. Everything seemed to be working fine at first and he updated some account data and joined a team. Now he cannot log in, getting errors like OOPS-1582A1292 and more recently OOPS-1585G1420.

OpenID authentication to dev.launchpad.net, one.ubuntu.com and login.ubuntu.com works fine, but shows "Logged in as a.j-merged". The list on login.ubuntu.com reports successful authentication to launchpad.net today.

So, there must be some mix-up between the SSO account and the Launchpad account. Please have a look into that.

This situation implies the email address or person objects are pointing the the wrong account. Maybe the changes were not propogated back the SSO correctly.

I can successfully login now. :-)

I maked this steps:
 * Merged again. With the user called ~new.
 * Confirmed my three e-mails.
 * Changed the name ~new to ~ayrton.araujo

At first, after merging, all e-mails appeared in my launchpad account. However, if I set <email address hidden> or <email address hidden> to my default e-mail in launchpad, the bug will occur again, then I deleted both from my new account for precaution.
These two e-mails apears in a.j-merged user when I try to login in login.ubuntu.com.

I appreciate if some one say to who cares about of the Ubuntu OpenID to delete my old account (being called now a.j-merge), the default e-mail (<email address hidden>) and the secondary e-mail (<email address hidden>) of this from login.ubuntu.com.
I've created, with my new OpenID, new accounts in some of the services that I previously used, such as Ubuntu One and isn't necessary maintain the bugged old account in OpenID data base.

If you need help to investigate this bug, I'll be in #launchpad (at freenode) called of easter_egg and I'll be interested to help in solving this problem so that it doesn't happen to users in the future.

Thanks to Henning Eggers for the help in this last week.

Regards.
