Can vcs-imports handle Git, Gant has switched

The Gant repository has switched from Subversion to Git, so the branch lp:~vcs-imports/gant/trunk needs to retarget to git://git.codehaus.org/gant.git or be deleted.

Please create a new import that points to the URL you gave. We'll happily delete (or at least rename) the SVN import once the git import is working

I guess I need to change my question -- I suspect I have just missed reading the right document, but . . . --- how do I "create a new import"? When the Subversion import was created, it required a Launchpad guru who just did it! (I have no idea how it actually happened.)

OK, got that, thanks.

I guess my only problem is that I can't ask for a replacement of trunk because the interface won't allow you to request a branch of a name that already exists -- so I can't have trunk. I guess I will just ask for master that being the Git default name.

The shiny new lp:~russel/gant/master appears to be working fine.

The old lp:~vcs-imports/gant/trunk is now failing due to lack of a Subversion repository to mirror. Given that this branch is owned by vcs-imports, I am unable to delete the poor thing and put it out of everyone's misery. Could I get someone who has the power to delete this branch.
