Gufw

Input only rules

Hi,

I reported what seemed to me a bug and the admin has deleted it as I guess because it's irrelevant, so I thought somebody will help me here.

I'm using GUFW 14.04, whenever I add a rule it's being created with "Input" direction only... and to change it to Output I had to go to "Edit this rule" and change it manually to Output, why is that happening?

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Bassam! :) I didn't delete your bug. I marked it as 'released':

I saw this bug a few months ago. Nobody reported it before :( then, the fix will be released for Ubuntu 14.10, not 14.04 :(
I'll ask for a backport to Ubuntu 14.04, then an update will apear with this fix.

When Gufw 14.10 will be in Ubuntu 14.04 all will be fixed.

I'm so sorry the apologies :$ If you want this fix in Ubuntu 14.04 now, just try this command in the Terminal:
wget https://bugs.launchpad.net/gui-ufw/+bug/1337746/+attachment/4145782/+files/fix_direction_log.patch ; sudo patch -p0 -i fix_direction_log.patch ; rm sudo patch -p0 -i fix_direction_log.patch

Ops, my command was wrong:
wget https://bugs.launchpad.net/gui-ufw/+bug/1337746/+attachment/4145782/+files/fix_direction_log.patch
sudo patch -p0 -i fix_direction_log.patch
rm fix_direction_log.patch

Hi! This bug will be fixed in Ubuntu 14.04 in a short time :)
