Can't write to #bzr channel

I'm an IRC noob. Everytime I try to comment or ask a question on #bzr said comment or question is rejected with:

Can't send to room "#bzr" on "irc.freenode.net".

from the Colloquy client. Do I need to register or request write privileges somewhere?

Apparently you now need to register and log in to speak in this channel http://freenode.net/faq.shtml#registering

I don't know if we asked for this or if freenode just did it. Unless it's really needed to stop abuse I'd like to turn it off again.
